RWANDA will compete in seven sporting disciplines at this year’s All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.

The Executive Director of the local Olympic Committee (RNOC) Thierry Ntwali told Times Sport yesterday that the country would compete in boxing, athletics, lawn tennis, table tennis, Paralympics, cycling and Karate.

“There is still room for the contingent to increase if basketball and volleyball teams qualify from their respective zones,” Ntwali said.

In the last edition held in Algiers, Rwanda failed to win a medal.  Dieudonne Disi came closest to the podium after a fourth spot finish in the half marathon.

This year’s event is slated to run from September 3-18; attracting over 5000 athletes competing in 23 disciplines. Zimpeto stadium is the official venue for the Games.
