THE demons that haunt Rwandan football clubs are not going away anytime soon.

SC Kiyovu head coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira has given the club two days to clear players’ outstanding salaries or else he quits.

Speaking to Times Sport yesterday, the former APR and Atraco coach said the club had failed to honor its contractual obligations to the players and coaching staff.

“The club management has disappointed us (coaching staff and players). Players have gone two months without pay yet some of them are foreigners who have families back home,” the 38-year-old fumed.

“It was not easy convincing the team to play Wednesday’s league match against Marines (Kiyovu won the match 2-0).”

“The squad is already depleted following the departure of left back Godfrey Katerega, Hussein Mbanza and Fuadi Ndayisenga and if something is not done in the next two days, I will quit,” he warned.

Kiyovu president Benjamin Gasamagera could not return calls from this reporter by press time.

The Nyamirambo based side is currently second on the Primus National Football League chart with 13 points, eight adrift of league leaders APR.

Last year, two clubs Atraco and Electrogaz pulled out of the league due to financial constraints.
