Imbuto Foundation, on Saturday, concluded a two-day youth workshop that attracted young Rwandans living in the country as well as those based abroad. During the workshop - held under the theme, A New Dawn - various topics were discussed, including, the Rwandan identity, political and ideological dimensions and attitude and behavioural issues with in the society.
Rwanda, is investing a lot in youth development, as a way of preparing the next generation for the challenges ahead. Young Rwandans have been integrated into the entire government structures, making them a critical component of the country’s decision making process.
As future leaders, it is important that the youth, today, engage in discussions that not only affects their immediate environment, but the country and the world at large.
It is such experiences that will open up their minds, and prepare them to be responsible leaders of tomorrow.
While, on one hand, Rwanda has a dark past, it has, on the other, a remarkable recovery process, and powerful reconciliation story.
If the country is to ensure that the dark days are gone forever, and the recovery process continues, it is imperative that the youth play an active role in consolidating the new Rwanda.
Young people are known for their energy, vigour and spontaneity. Through empowering them, the country is prepping future leaders who have the sacred responsibility to keep Rwanda moving forward.
