US embassy assitance will make a difference

Editor, I wish to move a vote of thanks to the US Embassy for extending financial assistance to 19 cooperatives in various districts across the country. This is a good gesture from our friends in the United States. I am sure the agreement signed worth $136,913, with associations and community-based groups, under the auspices of the Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Fund and PEPFAR’s Community Grants Fund, will transform lives of many Rwandans.

Editor,

I wish to move a vote of thanks to the US Embassy for extending financial assistance to 19 cooperatives in various districts across the country. This is a good gesture from our friends in the United States.

I am sure the agreement signed worth $136,913, with associations and community-based groups, under the auspices of the Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Fund and PEPFAR’s Community Grants Fund, will transform lives of many Rwandans.

But the beneficiaries should use the money properly. The funds should aim at  collectively improving the social conditions at the local community or village level, and accountability must be emphasized.

Beneficiaries must strive and make their businesses grow to positively change the standards of their living.
