I read on the online edition of The New Times that Civic Education for students had kicked off countrywide. I would like to say that this is timely and strategic, since the youth too need to get involved in national building activities.
Civic education is the core foundation to addressing factors regarding national interests since it equips students with skills to participate in democratic and developmental processes at both the local and national level.
The knowledge attained during these short courses is an essential dimension in the intensification of society’s ability to manage its own affairs. In light of this, Civic Education should be continuously taught for generations until every Rwandan, young and old, understands the value of responsible citizenship.
