EMMANUEL Ruremesha’s job is on the line after reports that the blues are going to bring back former coach Raoul Shungu.
Till date, Shungu stands out as Rayon’s most successful coach after guiding the club to three league titles, Cecafa Championship trophy and two Amahoro Cups.
The Congolese also put the club on the African map with some impressive cameo performances in the Caf Champions league as well as Confederation Cup.
The club’s new owner Albert Rudatsimburwa confirmed to Times Sport that Shungu was one of his top priorities but did not specify when the former Vita Club coach would be returning.
“He is a top level coach-there is no doubt about that. He did so many wonderful things for this club and there is still a strong bond between him and the fans,” the Contact FM boss said.
Much as this has been received with much zeal from the fans, it could be a major distraction for Ruremesha who is on national duty in Tanzania. The former Atraco assistant is one of Sellas Tetteh’s allies as Amavubi chase for their second Senior Challenge Cup.
Rayon have not won a trophy since 2005.
