Tigo Rwanda has decided to concentrate on the ‘100 percent Bonus, Kabisa’ promotion and discontinue the ‘Ba Free’ promotion as company responds to the market.

The company which has been running both promotions at the same time said that since the market was showing more positive interest in the ‘100 percent Bonus, Kabisa’ promotion there was no need to continue with ‘Ba Free’.

“Tigo is a dynamic company. The market is also dynamic. We at Tigo respond to what our clients want. ‘Ba Free’ was an exciting promotion however because we give a variety to our clients we introduced a new promotion, ‘100 percent Bonus’ which has received a more positive response,” Diego Camberos, the Head of Sales and Marketing told Business Times.

With the ‘Ba Free’ promotion one would buy airtime at a promotional fee of Rwf20 talk for three minutes and thereafter talk for free. Tigo introduced the new ‘100 percent Bonus, Kabisa’ promotion last week in which calling charges appear to be cut once a caller loads airtime.

With the new promotion that commenced last week on Friday, Tigo doubles the amount of airtime that is topped up on an SIM card.

Literally it means that Tigo subscribers will be spending two times less than they have been spending once they load airtime. The promotion is running concurrently with all other Tigo promotions.

The telecom company is also running, ‘Tira Tigo’ a promotion which allows subscribers to borrow airtime from Tigo and pay later.
