Vulnerable residents get household items

MUHANGA- Groundwork Opportunities (GO-Rwanda) an American Non government Organization, has donated an assortment of household items worth US $30,000 to vulnerable residents in Muhanga district.

MUHANGA- Groundwork Opportunities (GO-Rwanda) an American Non government Organization, has donated an assortment of household items worth US $30,000 to vulnerable residents in Muhanga district.

Also donated to the district were medical equipment and educational materials worth over US $70,000.

The donation which included- scholastic materials, wheel chairs, oxygen machines, beds, chairs, clothes and cooking utensils were handed over by GO-Rwanda officials last Friday.

Anitha Murekatete, the project  coordinator, stated that the donation was intended to support and improve welfare of the most vulnerable residents in the area.

“It is very important that the equipment is used appropriately in order to realize the value of the donations,” Murekatete said.

The Mayor of Muhanga, Yvonne Mutakwasuku hailed the project’s activities, which include-building houses for poor residents, providing support in the health, education sectors and presented a certificate of appreciation to Go-Rwanda officials.

One of the beneficiaries, Beatrice Mundekere, commended the donors, saying the items were a good start for better livelihoods.
