After a stint in jail and rehabilitation over drug abuse, local rapper P Fla is a reformed man.

The 33-year-old has had a reflection on life especially about his tainted relationship with her family.

Sources tell us that P Fla is now working towards reuniting with his family, especially his mum. It is said that the rapper and his mother often clashed, and it is anybody’s guess as to why albeit sources say she wasn’t happy about his choice of lifestyle.

The former member of the Tuff Gang crew is said to have opened up about his relationship with his family, admitting that for many years, he disrespected his mother and failed to follow her advice. Instead, he chose a way of life that ruined his relationship with his family.

We are told that he is working with female gospel singer Aline Gahongayire on a gospel track dedicated to his mother, under music producer Clement Ishimwe of Kina Music.

That is the way to go P-Fla.

Producer Piano back in business

Renowned producer Piano, real name Olivier Sheja, has been quiet for almost three years. The producer who was working under Super Level Studio had quit music allegedly over the influence of drugs.

But word reaching our desk is that Piano might be back in business, under Groove Studio, a new studio based in Nyamirambo.

The studio is owned by DJ Theo who’s also the manager of Social Mula.

Diamond Platinumz lands World Cup theme song deal

Diamond Platinumz is among the stars producing music adaptations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in June. The bongo star signed a deal to produce an East African song that will be used at the 2018 football event in Russia.

The Tanzanian artiste was chosen by former creative director of MTV Base, Tim Horwood, who was given a contract by Coca Cola to come up with music adaptations for the global tournament.

Diamond will be joined by South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest, Ethiopia’s Sami Dan, Mozambique’s Lizha James and Uganda’s Ykee Benda as they produce songs that will depict the colours and styles of the countries taking part in the global attraction.

The songs are also to be used to challenge negative international stereotypes of Africa.

The African songs will be added to the pool of FIFA World Cup global songs together with the official Coca Cola World Cup anthem Colours done by Jason Derulo. The FIFA World Cup will be played from June 14 to July 15 2018 in Russia with 32 countries represented. Africa will be represented by Tunisia, Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt and Senegal.

Mr Nice supports ban of music in Tanzania

Veteran singer Mr Nice has weighed in on the ban of 13 songs by the Tanzanian government for contravening the country’s norms and values.

Speaking to a local radio station in Tanzania, Mr Nice said that it was right for the government to institute the ban for the songs that had lewd content.

He added that it was better for the 13 to be banned, including Diamond’s Hallelujah and Waka Waka, than for them to spoil the broth for the rest of the artistes who were producing clean content.

Diamond’s Hallelujah featuring Morgan Heritage and Waka Waka featuring rapper Rick Ross were among the songs flagged down by the Tanzanian Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) for containing illicit content that violates Tanzania’s code of conduct.

In response, Diamond’s management stated that all songs produced by Wasafi should be vetted before being released to the masses. They added that they had not received any notice of the ban.

What happened between Davido and socialite Shaddy Boo ?

It is safe to say that Nigerian superstar, Davido, put up a thrilling performance in Kigali last weekend. However, the artiste’s time in the country was not short of drama, or so we are told.

It started with what people called ‘a stunt gone wrong’ – when he tripped and fell as he was getting on stage. During his performance, the singer climbed the stage pillars, compelling his bodyguards to follow him around to hold the poles lest he fell again, while warning him not to go any higher. But he did not listen. At some point, the artiste fell and was helped up, which made people question the state he was in. Was he drunk? We do not know but rumour has it that he had taken shots of Hennessey hours before going on stage.

Sources tell us that Rwandan socialite, Shaddy Boo, who seems to be a celebrity magnet, ‘partied’ with the superstar.

Social media was abuzz with indications that something went down between the two after Davido ‘stormed’ the socialite’s Instagram page, liking posts and making comments which sparked speculation.

Shaddy Boo raised more suspicion when she posted a ‘cozy’ picture of them in a hotel room.

Did Davido fall for the socialite? We will keep you posted.
