As part of the monthly community service, residents from four cells of Muhima sector in Nyarugenge sector yesterday cleared Nyabugogo marshland which thieves had used as cover to steal property from area residents.

During the three hour service, the residents together with Letshego Rwanda Limited staff cut grass and bushes surrounding the area.

After Umuganda, Local leaders reminded the residents to make sure their families have health insurance and maintain hygiene in their homes.

Muhima residents also welcomed a donation of Rwf 1.5 million water tank with the capacity of 10.000 litres from Letshego Rwanda Limited.

According to Dru Jarayatne, the chief executive officer of Letshego Rwanda, the facility will benefit Muhima residents in case there is water shortage in the area instead of fetching unpurified water in Nyabugogo Marshland.

Jarayatne said that besides dealing with financial issues, Letshego gives back to the community to improve their welfare.

“Our business targets the community and we have a duty to support and cooperate with them that is the reason we join them in such services and support them. This facility will help them to fetch clean water,” he added.
