I want to take the opportunity to thank all the four presidential election candidates who showed the rest of the world just how campaigns should be held.
They didn’t spend the last couple of weeks bad mouthing each other and lying. They avoided inflammatory statements and each and every one of them acted in a mature, civilized way.
I can totally understand why those observing the electoral process here from afar couldn’t understand what was going on.
They’ve been trained to expect name-calling and outrageous pandering to the electorate.
I remember just how President Obama was abused, threatened and even called a Kenyan Muslim. We, in Rwanda, should be proud that our politicians have better qualities than that.
They have all run a great campaign and we should be proud of them.
