Editor,

RE:New report links France to Genocide in Rwanda” (The New Times, December 13).

This is exactly why the French Government can never and will never allow the closure of their never-ending make-believe ‘investigation’ of the downing of President Juvénal Habyarimana’s aircraft, in accordance with the conclusions of Judge Marc Trévidic’s judicial investigation; they desperately need something, no matter how threadbare and ridiculous it has now become, to trot out into the public from time to time to try and change the subject whenever the reality of their complicity in the Genocide against the Tutsi resurfaces.

Mais, les faits sont vraiment têtus! (Loosely to mean, ‘But, facts are indeed stubborn’)!
