Higiro promises better service delivery

KAMONYI/NGORORERO - The Liberal Party (PL) will focus on improving service delivery once it wins the August 9 polls, its presidential candidate, Prosper Higiro, said yesterday. Speaking at separate rallies in Gatumba and Mugina in Ngororero and Kamonyi districts respectively, in the west and southern provinces respectively, Higiro said.

KAMONYI/NGORORERO - The Liberal Party (PL) will focus on improving service delivery once it wins the August 9 polls, its presidential candidate, Prosper Higiro, said yesterday.

Speaking at separate rallies in Gatumba and Mugina in Ngororero and Kamonyi districts respectively, in the west and southern provinces respectively, Higiro said.
“Once elected to power, all residents will receive quality service at all leadership levels, so as to propel development”.

The PL candidate was received amidst chants and applause from residents at both rallies.

He added his party will put more efforts in improving education, access to health services, infrastructure and skills development.

Once voted in power, he said, we will professionalize the agricultural and livestock sectors, strengthen the justice sector and improve on environmental and land consolidation mechanisms so as to spur development.

His campaign manager, François Byabarumwanzi, urged residents to vote for the PL candidate to enable him implement the party’s vision for the country.

“The election date is like our wedding day and we are sure of victory. Let’s get ready to make that day colourful and victorious for all Rwandans who have chosen the path of liberty, justice and development,” Byabarumwanzi said.

Protais Mitali, the party’s chairman, hailed residents for the warm reception, adding that it was the right time for the party to take the presidency ‘after working hard alongside others, to rebuild the Rwandan community since the 1994 Genocide.

Residents, who talked to The New Times, said they waited anxiously to see, for the first time, Higiro outline his political agenda.

“I love him for his diplomacy and experience…I hope he can use it to meet the needs of rural communities,” said Jean Baptiste Ngirinshuti of Mugina sector.
