Addressing hundreds of supporters at Ubworoherane Stadium, Musanze District, yesterday, Ntawukuriryayo added that he will set up small-scale industries to transform rural areas.

“My priority will be to reduce malnutrition levels from 40% to 10% in the first two years.  While 10% of the national budget will be channelled to agriculture development with a target of increasing farm yields per hectare from 20 tonnes to 40 tonnes,’’ he said.

The rally attracted high profile party members, including the Minister of Natural Resources, Stanislas Kamanzi, who is also the head of the campaign team, the Minister of Labour Anastase  Murekezi,  and party MPs.

Ntawukuriryayo, who was accompanied by his wife, promised to turn Ruhengeri Hospital into a modern referral hospital which will offer health services even to people beyond the borders.
