In a bid to nurture and develop basketball talent at the grassroots level, the Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB) has increased the number of sites for under 14 and under 17 basketball camps for both boys and girls.

The camps will be held at Group Scolaire St Aloys de Rwamagana for girls and UR- Huye for boys.

FRVB executive secretary, Christian Hatumimana, said the camps are aimed at talent detection.

“The objective is to make sure that we detect talent at the grassroots level so that the best can qualify to the U14 and U17 national teams,” said Hatumimana.

The players who have benefited from youth training camps include national team players Placide ‘Madison’ Sibomana, Yvan Mahoro, Yves Mutabazi, Nelson Murangwa, and Jacob Rene Cyusa, among others.
