Award winning South Africa based musician Tresor Riziki is coming to Rwanda.
The multi platinum selling Congolese born singer-songwriter and producer is scheduled to perform at the first edition of Blankets and Wine in Kigali, on August 27 at Golf Club in Nyarutarama.
Orphaned at an early age, Riziki left Goma in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo after finishing high school, and headed for Durban, South Africa in 2007, with the purpose of pursuing a professional music career. In 2014, he released his debut album, VII, and it features collaborations with AKA, Beatenberg, Khuli Chana and The Soil.
David Kamanda, the organiser of the festival, said preparations are now in high gear for one of East Africa’s most sought after events, to be held in Rwanda for the first time.
Kamanda said festival-goers will dance to some of Trésor’s most popular songs like Remedy, Never Let Me Go, Mount Everest, Celebration, Complete and Speed of Sound, among others.
Other performers are Lillian Mbabazi, Bruce Melody, Mike Kayihura, Angel Mutoni, Situ True, Andy Bumuntu, Moise, Kiki, Weya and Metheselah.
Apart from music, the festival will include a fashion show and food court, among other exciting activities. There will also be plenty of interesting activities and games for children. The event will start at noon and end late in the night. Tickets are available online at www.blanketsandwine.com at Rwf15, 000.
