BRICE Itangishaka, 13, is set to train with ASPIRE academy, one of the largest football talent search projects in football history.

Itangishaka was part of the eight players who were selected by the academy’s scout Gerald Zaragoza back in May to undergo final trials in Nairobi, Kenya.

The youngster, who plays for Stella Maris junior club, had failed to make the cut for the Ferwafa academy in 2008 and APR academy last year.

Itangishaka will now train in Qatar with a chance of joining Barcelona’s football academy should he impress.
ASPIRE academy was unveiled in 2007 by Brazilian soccer legend Pele.

The academy’s Sports Director Andreas Bleicher recently said that, “everyone in football is aware of the significant talent that exists in Africa, and the challenges that can prevent this talent reaching its full potential so this is an opportunity for talented young African boys to reach the heights of international football in the future.”
