Local artists thrill the youth

For those of you who missed the ceremony to mark the end of the youth week, you missed more than just music. It was not only a chance in a life time for the thousands of youth who had packed the stadium to the brim, but also the musicians who hard a good time with the President, the Prime Minister and other top government officials who took time off to leave their seats in the pavilion to join them on the floor.

As if to return the favour, the youth did not disappoint. Their stomping threatened to bring the stadium down as they danced to a mixture of tunes---from patriotic songs like “Tuzarwubaka”, Dr. Claude’s new EDPRS ‘Vision 2020’ song to Meddy’s ‘Igipimo’ with a lot of energy.

Dr. Claude, Kitoko, Meddy, Mako Nikoshwa, Rafiki Mazimpaka, Sgt. Robert, Intore Massamba are some of the musicians who thrilled the huge crowd on the day to mark 10 years since the formation of the National Youth Council and the end of the youth week.

Aline Gahongayire, Mani Martin, Ms. Tonzi, Tom Close and Miss Shanel also had their time on the stage to impress the massive crowd. The crowd were thrilled when Prime Minister took the microphone from Meddy and also attempted to show his musical talent.

Cobra Sounds provided the powerful sound that was needed to stir the youthful crowd. A group of Acrobats and skaters from Nyamirambo also had a fair share of appreciation from the crowd.

What a way to end the long week of hard work!!
