YAKUBU suffered one of the worst misses of all time as Nigeria crashed out of the World Cup.
With the Super Eagles 2-1 down, the Everton striker heeled the ball wide from yards out with a totally open goal.
Incredibly, Yakubu found salvation just two minutes later when he levelled matters from the spot.
But the draw was not enough for Nigeria and South Korea held firm to book a last 16 spot.
Yakubu and Co almost let it slip early on when Chu-Young Park burst through after two minutes.
But the Africans were let off the hook when the Bolton star shanked wide — and they cashed in just eight minutes later. Chidi Odiah galloped down the right and sent in a cross for Uche.
Doo-Ri Cha was goalside of the striker and really should have dealt with the ball in. But the dozy defender allowed Uche to sneak in and fire the Nigerians ahead.
Yakubu then freed Chinedu Obasi on the right but the forward blazed over with three team-mates begging for a cross. Yakubu then had his nightmare when he shanked wide from five yards out. He had a totally open goal and stared in disbelief at his blunder.
Incredibly, though, the Everton man atoned for his mistake by firing in a penalty two minutes later.
