Former league power house SC Kiyovu risks facing relegation to the second division following a shock 1-0 loss to Etincelles on Sunday at Mumena Stadium.

The Mumena based side are yet to secure a win in the second round and are just four points ahead of relegation threatened Gicumbi FC.

On Sunday, Etincelles’s Salite Kambale Gentile scored the lone goal to worsen Aloys Kanamugire’s record- of only five wins, four draws and 14 losses in 23 games.

“We don’t have consistency; we need to work harder in the next games. We need to gain our confidence and look for more wins, which I believe we can,” Kanamugire said

Meanwhile in other games, Mukura beat Marines 1-0 while on Saturday reigning champions APR defeated Sunrise 1-0 to cut the eleven-points on top of the league table to eight.

Elsewhere Espoir beat Kirehe 1-0 in Rusizi while Musanze played out a 1-all draw against AS Kigali at Stade Ubworoherane in Musanze. Police thrashed Pepinierre 4-1 and Amagaju lost at home 1-0 against Bugesera.

Rayon Sports are leading the table with 55 points, APR follow with 47 points, Police remain third with 46 points while AS Kigali are fourth with 44 points with Musanze in the fifth place with 37 points. Gicumbi and Pepiniere occupy the bottom two positions with 18 and 12 points respectively.
