RWAMAGANA – Two cultural troupes based in Nyagihanga sector, Gatsibo district, and a Moslem leader in Kayonza district, Hussein Ruhumurambuga, on Tuesday received their gifts pledged by President Paul Kagame during his recent visit to the Province.

The group of 28 dancers in Garukurebe and Girinyange were given cell phones, while Ruhumurambuga received a brand new motorcycle.

The donation was handed over by the Governor of Eastern Province, Dr. Ephraim Kabaija.  “Today, I am handing over these gifts which include cell phones and a motorcycle as a fulfilment of what the President promised you. He is a man who keeps his word,” Kabaija said.

Isaiah Habarurema, the Executive Secretary of Nyagihanga sector, said that the group that was given cell phones was exemplary to other residents in the sector.

He said that the women and men within the cultural troupes are not only hard working, but also exhibit good leadership skills.

“These people are doing well in agriculture. They are also civic educators in the society, and they are known to be at the forefront of organising others in the community,” he said.

Ruhumurambuga, overwhelmed with joy, thanked the President for the gift.
