This is in reference to your article entitled “Online visa applications on the rise”, I would like to commend the online facility that is indeed a great boon for visitors who wish to come to Rwanda. It has simplifies immensely the travel procedures and documentation.
Please allow me to congratulate the Immigration and Emigration chief and his team for their very efficient and prompt services. The Department sends out a confirmation within twenty four hours !
However, now with the EAC Common Market is coming into effect from July 1, 2010 , perhaps the Immigration and Emigration Department might want to consider issuing more than just a single entry visa .
If a visitor just wants to go over to Burundi or Uganda and return, he would have to pay another USD 60 at the time of re-entry into Rwanda.
This can be rather inconveniencing and expensive particularly for travelling families since each one has to pay an additional USD 60 for re-entry into Rwanda.
