Kudos to the women achievers

Editor,

RE: “Meet the women achievers of 2016” (The New Times, December 29).

It is very satisfying to see how The New Times encourages Rwandans, both young and old, who make a mark in some way or the other, by reporting their achievements in your columns.

This support you give spurs them on to aim even higher in their quest for excellence.

Please allow me to share with your esteemed readers that Yvette Ishimwe from Kayonza and Kellya Uwiragiye from Kigali are also both definitely women achievers of 2016, having been recipients of the coveted Queen’s Young Leaders Awards for this year.

Ms. Ishimwe has facilitated people to get clean drinking water in Kayonza, in a most efficient and cost effective manner.

Ms. Uwiragiye, on her part, is doing tremendous work for the deaf and dumb in the country, with her NGO, Media4Deaf Rwanda.
They need all the encouragement and recognition as women achievers of 2016 and I wish them, together with the other women achievers, all the very best for the New Year 2017.

Clarence Fernandes.
