Hassan Habimana scored the lone goal in the 33rd minute from the 25 yards in a game Kishi’s team dominated.

“We cannot win the league this season or next season but after three seasons we will be looking to win the title,” he said.

“We want to sign as many young players from Kirehe as possible. We want to build a strong generation of footballers in Kirehe,” he said. He also praised the supporters, whom he said had been phenomenal, especially during home matches.

“I am happy we are getting more confident after winning two games,” he added.

The former AS Kigali and SC Kiyovu coach insisted his first objective is to keep Kirehe in the topflight football league, after which they would start setting higher ambitions.

Kishi won the Peace Cup title with Les Citadins (now AS Kigali) in 2001.

“We have won two games and lost one and I think we are not far of getting better. Our focus is to get as many points as possible in coming games and I’m confident we will maintain our form going forward. We are also hoping to finish in good positions in the league,” added the head coach.

Kirehe will continue their campaign against Etincelles on Saturday at Nyakarambi turf.
