In the sports section of The New Times yesterday (October 24), we reported that Victoria Motors handed over a new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport to Kayihura, the MTN Golf tournament winner.
We have since learned that the vehicle was handed over to Davis Kashaka, and not Michel Kayihura as reported. Kashaka, who is the captain of the golf team received the vehicle after Kayihura declined to the prize. We also learned that the prize of the car was conditional, with the winner receiving a 25 per cent discount off the cost of total the vehicle and attaining full ownership after paying 75 percent within 30 days.
The winner of the car was drawn from a raffle conducted after the MTN Golf Open tournament that took place October 8-9, 2016.
