A new gospel music festival themed, “Himbaza Gospel Festival”, is scheduled for November 4 at the Amahoro National Stadium in Remera. It is organised by ProEye and Doxa Group and supported by  Rwanda Academy of Language and Culture (RALC) in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Culture.

The festival, according to the spokesperson of the event, Florent Ndutiye, aims at giving a bigger platform to the gospel music industry and to inspire upcoming gospel artistes to take a step forward.

“Gospel artistes have a big audience. This event will be a platform for the gospel artistes to showcase talent so that it can inspire upcoming artistes. It is also in line with the vision by the organisers of the event to unite and inspire young artistes,” said Ndutiye.

“I am hopeful that after this festival people will open their eyes and give gospel artistes a chance to show their talent,” he added.

Other highlights of the day will include training sessions that will be facilitated by guest international gospel artistes. Local artistes will also have a chance to showcase their CDs and DVDs to audiences and get a chance to network with potential partners.

“What mainly pushed us to initiate this is the fact that gospel artistes are very talented but still have limited platforms. The festival will prove that even the gospel artistes can be used by companies as brand ambassadors,” Ndutiye said.
