Police FC head coach Innocent Seninga has called on his team to return to winning ways after a 3-0 defeat to title rivals Rayon Sports in the 2016/17 Azam Rwanda Premier League season opener last week.
The 2015 Peace Cup champions were outplayed by the blues who dominated possession throughout the match with Pierrot Kwizera and Shassir Nahimana scoring for Djuma Masudi’s team.
And, against Bugesera FC at Kicukiro stadium on Saturday, Seniga said his team will be looking forward to bag their first points of the season.
“We want to win the game,” he said.
Police endured a poor campaign last season finishing fifth in the league, something that resulted in the sacking of coach Andre Casa Mbungo.
Seninga said Police lost their opener in the new season last week because the players failed to follow his instructions and did not work as a team.
“The truth is that we were outplayed by Rayon and they deserved to win the game. My players did not follow my instructions, I had assigned each player a task but none executed it, this is a very big problem but, of course, it’s my job as a coach to address that,” said Seninga.
The Kacyiru based side were sloppy and hardly troubled the Rayon Sports defence and goalkeeper Eric ‘Bakame’ Ndayishimiye.
“We have a long way to go in terms of building our team work, coordination and, more importantly, training players to stick to the game plan and execute tactics,” Seninga added.
Bugesera coached by Vincent Mashami got off to a perfect start defeating SC Kiyovu 3-0 on Saturday.
