Nineteen year old Zappy Bimenyimana was unstoppable for RCA-Development when they hammered Kerala Hunters in the on-going UAE Exchange 50-overs Premier League at Kicukiro cricket ground on Sunday.
Bimenyimana single handedly made 51 runs in 44 balls helping his side to a big margin of 95 runs.
On their way to victory, RCA-Development won the toss and batted first making 191 runs in 49.1 over’s. Binyimana and Adelin Tuyizere produced a remarkable 73 runs.
In the second Innings, Kerala Hunters tried to chase the target set by RCA but only managed to make 96 runs in 20.2 overs.
Kerala Hunters’ Sruthin Gopi was his team’s star player with 19 runs in 18 balls but this was not enough to challenge the target set by RCA.
“We have many games ahead of us, we need not to be carried away by this win, we should instead work hard and win all the coming games,” said John Bosco Tuyizere RCA Development team skipper.
Bimenyimana was arguably the most outstanding player in the game and he attributed his performance to the unity of the players. “We played as a team and fully supported each other and it boosted our performance. We always communicate well, we are united and we find ourselves doing things right.
