Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has organised a five-day FIFA Member Association (MA) referee’s course that started on Monday and will run through to October 7 at the federation headquarters in Remera.
Facilitated by the World football governing body, FIFA, the refereeing course will be conducted by FIFA technical instructor and former FERWAFA president Celestin Ntagungira and FIFA fitness instructor Mbacke Mademba from Senegal.
The week-long course has attracted 25 qualified referees, some with international experience in the game. This platform is intended to help the referees get updated with the new changes in law and make them better in every aspect of their job.
The course began on Monday morning with a physical fitness test at Amahoro National Stadium and Tuesday (today) is a day of classes, practical sessions and assessments.
All theory lessons are held at FERWAFA while practical sessions are staged at Amahoro Stadium in the afternoons. The FIFA instructors will be assisted by local technical instructors namely; Michel Gasingwa, Appolinaire Munyangoga and CAF Fitness Instructor Corneille Hategikimana.
