APR FC and Congolese giants AS Vita Club faceoff this afternoon at Amahoro National Stadium to decide who reaches the last four as Group A winners in the ‘AS Kigali Pre-season Tournament’.

APR FC leads the table with three points and a superior +5 goal difference over AS Vita, who have three points and a +1 goal difference, while the other two teams in the group, AS Kigali and Dauphin Noir, who meet at Kigali Regional Stadium, are yet to secure a point.

On Friday, APR FC thrashed DR Congo side Dauphin Noir 5-0, a day after hosts AS Kigali lost 1-0 to AS Vita Club.

“We want to win every game in the group to reach the semi-finals as group winners, we are in a good position and our aim is to stay on top,” APR interim coach Yves Rwasamanzi said after Friday’s big win.

The former SC Kiyovu coach noted that, “I am happy with the way my team played today, but also know they will improve game by game; we will continue to work hard every game and earn all points.”

In Group B, Sunrise FC and Rayon Sports lead Group B with three points apiece while Police FC and SC Kiyovu are yet to secure a point.

SC Kiyovu will host Police at Mumena Stadium at 3:30pm while Sunrise and Rayon Sports will play the day’s last game at 8pm at Amahoro National Stadium.

In the first game of Friday evening at Kigali Regional Stadium, Nyagatare-based Sunrise FC edged SC Kiyovu 2-0, thanks to goals from Ali Sova Moussa and Nigerian import Alex Olotoma.
