“As organisers, we hope to have a good tournament, and hopefully it comes off that way because we have some good teams taking part, but also we need to win the opening match against Vita,” Nshimiyimana told Times Sport on Wednesday.

He added, “We are aware of the task ahead of us, not just for the first game but throughout the whole tournament. Winning against a very good side like AS Vita will be good not only for this particular competition, but most importantly for the rest of the new season.”

The other tough game will be played in group B between local rivals Rayon Sports and Police FC. It will be the first match of new Police coach, Innocent Seninga against the Peace Cup winners.
