RE: “Rwanda is a winner and everyone wants a piece of it” (The New Times, May 16).
We, Africans, are good at pleasing ourselves or blaming others to justify our deeds. I often see people in other African countries debating about Rwanda, and it has shown me how some fellow Africans view us.
Some argue that we are not capable of bringing about the kind of transformation our economy has experienced over the last decade or so with our relatively meager resources, unless we might have looted a neighbouring country that’s richly endowed with natural resources!
Many still wonder how we did it.
My answer to such fellow Africans is that what we all need is working hard.
