Resilience RFC to play two games in one day

The Rusizi-based league debutants will visit Muhanga in the morning, starting at 10am, before heading to Huye for the second match against the University of Rwanda Grizzlies in the afternoon. Resilience coach/player, Donatien Ufitimfura, said they have to avoid engaging Muhanga from whom they earned a comfortable but bruising 34-6 home win on February 6. “We want to preserve energy for the second game, we will play as a team and spread the ball,” said the Resilience RFC team captain. Bottom-placed Muhanga, who have just 3 points from four games this season, will be seeking to secure at least a losing bonus point while UR Grizzlies, in third place with 4 points, are more positive heading to the game. Resilience have 10 points from two wins, including 29-12 win against Kamonyi Pumas on Feb 22. Pumas lead the four-team Southern Province league, with 12 points from four matches. In the Central League, Thousand Hills, in second place with 9 points, host bottom-placed Kigali Sharks at the Centre des Jeunes, Gatenga. Thousand Hills won the first round meeting 11-0 and will be looking for a bonus point to keep pressure on leaders, Buffaloes (9 points and a more tries), who face Lion de Fer at the Utexrwa ground in the rescheduled first round fixture.
