Ugandan diva, Lilian Mbabazi and the musical duo of Mafikizolo from South Africa will headline this year's annual Mutzig Beer Fest. Organised by Bralirwa, the festival which brings Mutzig fans together will take place this weekend at Rugende Training Center on the road to Kabuga. Lilian Mbabazi performs tonight while Mafikizolo will have their turn tomorrow.
Mutzig Beer Fest has become one of the most popular festivals in Rwanda since its inception in 2008.
Inspired by the famous Oktoberfest, the largest annual beer festival in the world held in Munich, Germany, the Rwandan Beer Fest is the country’s biggest celebration of beer and music.
“We just want to chill out, and remind people of the local talents we have here and reward them by bringing talents from outside,” says Julius Kayoboke, the Bralirwa Marketing Director.
Finding your way to the venue should not be an issue as shuttle bus rides will be available on the hour from three pick up places in Kigali, including Sonatubes, KBC, and the Downtown taxi park.
Mbabazi and the Sundowners will peform this evening, Septermbe 19, while Mafikizolo will perform tomorrow. Also expected to perform are, Nubian Gypsies, Ben Ngabo, Mani Martin, Mike Kayihura, Neptunes, Jules Sentore and the Mico band.
The beer fest is a great opportunity to discover new talents and also listen to worldwide celebrated celebrities.
