RCA T20 accolades
Man of Series-A.
AUDIFAX Byiringiro’s captivating display in the just ended RCA T20 tournament has left many referring to him as the next big thing in local cricket.
The youngster, who turns 16 in December, was pivotal in Titans’ run to the semi-finals where they were eventually knocked out by Indorwa.
Byiringiro, who is expected to play a key role for Rwanda in the forthcoming ACA U-19 tournament in Ghana, walked away with the ‘man of the series’ award on Sunday after impressive statistics of 151 runs, nine wickets and three not outs.
“Right now, he is one of the best cricketers in the country and there is every reason to believe that he has the ability to reach greater heights,” a team mate and one of Rwanda’s senior players Emmanuel Byiringiro said.
Impala Nippers’ Eric Dusabemungu was voted best batsman after amassing 207 runs while Titans’ Sam Nkurunziza pocketed the best bowlers’ prize after picking nine wickets.
Indorwa swept the tournament after a bowl out with Kigali Cricket Club (KCC) in the final.
