Amavubi Stars captain and Yanga midfielder Haruna Niyonzima has extended his contract with the Tanzania Premier League champions until the end of 2015/2016 season.
The stylish playmaker put pen to paper with the 24-time Tanzanian champions on Monday, a contract that will see former Etincelles and Rayon Sports kingpin play for the five-time CECAFA Kagame Cup winners for a fifth consecutive season since joining the club from APR FC.
The development was confirmed by Niyonzima himself on Tuesday, using his official facebook page, he said,” I’m delighted to tell you that I have agreed to stay at Yanga for next season. God bless you.”
The 27-year-old Niyonzima featured for the 15-time champions APR for four years (2007-2011) and helped the military side to win three league titles, three Peace Cup crowns and one CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2010 before moving to Tanzania in the summer of 2011.
