GICUMBI Handball Club will be hoping for a first league win when they face reigning champions Police on Sunday at Amahoro stadium.

The 2013 champions were narrowly defeated by APR 21-19 last week and Coach Ebenezer Murenzi is adamant that his side can pick maximum points from the champions.

“It will be a tough game but the players are up for it,” a confident Murenzi said after training yesterday.

On the other hand, the defending champions are still undefeated this season and will be aiming to stretch the winning run according to coach Antoine Ntabanganya.

Elsewhere on Sunday, former champions and currently second-placed APR square-off with Nyakabanda at Kimisagara Youth Center courts.

Today, ES Kigoma play ES Urumuri at 12pm, Kigoma hosts Rambura. All matches take place in Muhanga district.

As it stands, Police lead the league table with 12 points from four matches, APR are second with 10 points. ES Urumuri are in third place with 7 points while Huye-based UR- CASS are fourth with 5 points.
