APR vs INATEK (Amahoro)

Former league champions Kigali Volleyball Club take on league leaders Rayon Sports this evening at Amahoro indoor stadium aiming to win and close the gap to within three points. The game has been moved to evening hours in a bid to attract more fans.

“We need to attract many people to watch league matches, that is why we have put Friday’s (today) game in the evening after most people have left work and unlike in the past, people will have to pay to enter the stadium,” said the FRVB president, Gustave Nkurunziza.

Rayon Sports leads the table with 17 points, two points ahead of INATEK, who will meet APR tomorrow at Amahoro indoor stadium, while KVC are five points behind.

KVC trainer Jean Marie Nsengiyumva said, “We need to win this game and continue to fight for the top four finish, we are going to face the league leaders, but we will give our best.”

Meanwhile on Tuesday, Rwanda Revenue Authority lost to Carthage of Tunisia 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, and 25-15) in quarter-finals at the ongoing Africa Women Clubs Championships in Cairo, Egypt.

However, Rwanda’s league champions, RRA defeated Cameroonian side FAP 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-21) in playoff 5th to 8th position in 78 minutes on Wednesday.
