President Kagame should not retire

Editor,

Refer to Felly Kimenyi’s article, “British IT guru: Why I’m hooked to Rwanda” (The New Times, March 16).

I am so proud of President Paul Kagame that it puzzles me now to think that he has to retire as per the current constitution.

He is an asset to this country and he should continue to have the opportunity to be a “maverick” in a spearheading role to take this country forward.

I encounter many high ranking African officials and politicians in my daily business. No one among them (African leaders) would take such a step to approach a businessman overseas and follow-up to make things happen in his country.

Thank you President.
