The only two sides yet to lose a match in the ongoing national women’s football league this season, AS Kigali and Les Lionnes square-off this afternoon at Mumena Stadium, kickoff at 1:30pm.

The reigning champions AS Kigali will be looking to maintain their three-year unbeaten streak while Huye-based Les Lionnes will be aiming to become the first team to beat the City of Kigali-sponsored side in that period.

Les Lionnes FC head coach Innocent Harerimana told Sunday Sport that his side is all fit and keen on putting up a good performance against the champions and reduce the gap between the two teams to one point.

Before today’s game, AS Kigali lead league table with 24 points, 4 ahead of second-placed Les Lionnes.

“We are ready; all my players are fit for the game on Sunday. We are aware of what AS Kigali can do if we don’t play wisely, we will do everything possible to stop them. We need this win,” Harerimana noted.

Elsewhere, third-placed Atletico play away to Rambura, straggling Bugesera host Inyemera of Gicumbi District, Freedom face in-form Kamonyi, Academic Girls will be up against lowly Golden Generation while Nyagatare and Youvia tussle it out at GS Musheri playground.
