The search for Miss Rwanda 2015 ended on Saturday, with the crowning of 19-year-old Doriane Kundwa from Northern Province. It was arguably one of the most successful events in the history of Miss Rwanda. It got the whole country talking. The buzz on social media and the mainstream media was unprecedented.

However, the excitement should not end with the crowning ceremony. The expectations are high and real work for Miss Rwanda starts now. She needs all the support to accomplish her goal in the next one year. Kundwa’s priorities are well thought out. She wants to promote talent development among the youth and ultimately contribute to the country's goal of having a knowledge based economy.

Miss Rwanda has the capacity to achieve this goal, if she is given the necessary support from concerned circles like the Ministry of Sports and Culture (Minspoc) and corporate companies because her projects are about transforming society.

There is no doubt that Miss Rwanda is going to be one of the most influential people in 2015. Many people especially the youth look up to Miss Rwanda as their role model and thus any company planning to attract the youth should use Miss Rwanda as their brand ambassador. It will be very hard for Miss Rwanda to live up to the expectations of the country, if she is not supported to do her work.

The outgoing Miss Rwanda faced a lot of challenges including poor management of her activities, lack of funds and unfulfilled promises by organisers. We can only hope that this doesn't happen to Miss Rwanda 2015
Congratulations Kundwa and may your reign as Miss Rwanda make a difference in society.
