Belgium based Rwandan gospel artist, Kizito Mihigo is scheduled to perform on Sunday April 11, at Lycée Notre dame de Citeaux.
His concert dubbed, “Akira uru Rwanda Mana Ihoraho”, meaning (Receive Rwanda, God) is aimed at sensitizing Genocide perpetrators to repent and to love each other; and to join the survivours in the journey of forgiveness and unity.
Mihigo, a professional artist, will present his own compositions about 16 years after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
During the concert, poems will be recited and testimonies presented by genocide surviviours. Thereafter, a special prayer will be held to honour people who were killed during the Genocide.
“The darkness we saw will become a light shining for the world, and the pain we suffered will turn into hope for everyone,” Mihigo said during a press conference.
A fundraising will also be held to raise money to cover costs incurred during the concert’s preparation. The concert is free of charge and will start at 6:00 p.m.
