Reference to the story “Death of a spouse: How soon is too soon to find love again?” , The New Times, November, 20 2014
Reference is made to the article, “Death of a spouse: How soon is too soon to find love again?” that appeared in Women magazine, November, 20 2014. It was quite an interesting read seeing as this is a controversial topic.
Personally, I have been widow for two years now and I have such mixed emotions to get back to dating. It is very scary these days. My husband was my first and only man for 45 years. I was 17 and he was 19 when we got married. I was 63 when he died ofCancer. I really don’t know how to date because it’s been 47 years now.
But my reasoning on this topic is that if it feels right, then go ahead and find your new love. It’s kinder to take other people’s feelings into consideration, but they don’t have to live your life, or “walk in your shoes”but if they are small-minded enough to cut you out of their lives, so be it. They weren’t worthy of being in your life anyway.
