URUGWIRO VILLAGE - President Paul Kagame, yesterday, received the Secretary General in charge of the organization department of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Gao Shiqi, at Urugwiro Village, where they held discussions on the Rwanda-China ties.
After the meeting, Shiqi said that he had held a very fruitful meeting with the President regarding the socio-economic development that is currently taking place in Rwanda.
“I have expressed my views, especially that the people here have a good spirit of hard work and I am deeply touched,” Shiqi said.
“In the recent years we have also witnessed a very good cooperation with this country in various areas and we have a general arrangement to initiate new partnerships that will promote development in various sectors of Rwanda”.
The Secretary General of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), Francois Ngarambe, added that the visiting Chinese official also delivered a message to President Kagame from his Chinese counterpart praising Rwanda’s relationship with China.
“In the message, the Chinese President also congratulated Rwandans upon their great achievements under the leadership of President Kagame,” Ngarambe said.
“The President also said that the country has a strong partnership with China, especially since both nations have a similar view regarding citizens’ unity and dignity”.
Ngarambe revealed that the discussions also affirmed more measures that will be taken to strengthen this partnership so that solutions that aim at accelerating the development process are fostered.
Shiqi noted that his party has a great relationship with the RPF.
