Antoinette Uwimbabazi’s fine performance with both ball and bat helped Kigali Angels CC secure their first win in the ongoing Women’s UA Exchange & Xpress Money T20 cricket tournament.

Uwimbabazi’s 2 wickets and 35 runs helped Kigali Angels beat Charity CC by 18 runs over the weekend at Kicukiro oval.

“The game was in our hands after limiting Kigali Angels to 101 runs in 15 Overs but our batters were outplayed by Kigali Angels cricket club’s good bowling attack,” admitted Charity captain Uwase Claudine.

The deciding match will be on November 8 between Queens of Victory and Kigali Angels from where the winner will play White Clouds in the final.

Both teams have four points having won one and lost one. Every win earns 3 points plus one point for each game played. In the men’s category, Right Guards CC beat Kerala Hunters CC by 106 runs in the Men’s UAE Exchange & Xpress Money 50 Over’s premier league on Sunday at the same venue.

Right Guards won the toss and batted first making 236 runs all out in 45 overs thanks to the partnership between Joshua Mwanja (76 runs) and Emmanuel Mugabe (38 runs).

Pravith Pressanaraj and Shrutin P.G both picked 3 wickets for Kerala Hunters, who managed just 129 runs all out in 25.1 overs.

Mugabe took 4 wickets in his 8 overs and was declared man of match while leg spinner Clinton Rubagumya chipped in with 3 wickets for Right Guards.

With one game to go in the preliminaries, 4 teams have already qualified for the semi finals.

They include Telugu CC, Kigali CC, Indorwa cc and Right Guards. The semi-finals will be played on the November 9 and 16.
