Reference is made to Emmanuel Hategeka’s article, “Start small but think big – supporting SMEs to grow and export (Part II)” (The New Times, October 10).
The PS should rather be telling us how many of those “online” registered SMEs did really took off and survived until now. How many are export oriented?
How many did invent tradable products and at what level? What percentage of credit (as investment capital) was disbursed to these SMEs in the past two years by local banks? How many are now paying back?
How many are making profit as envisioned in their business plans and, finally, by how much have these SMEs reduced the current import-export imbalance?
