If you watch the 9pm news on Rwanda Television, then you know news anchor Teopista Mutesi.The 22-year-old, in an interview with Society Magazine’s Doreen Umutesi, talks about her love for high heels and the importance of choosing colours that match her complexion. Excerpts; How would you describe your dress sense? Teopista Mutesi I love high heeled shoes because I feel elegant especially when I wear them with well fitting trousers. I am also a lover of pink and red, especially when it comes to tops. What’s your favourite clothing item? My favourite clothing item is a fitting blazer and skater skirt. Where do you shop for clothes? Normally I do my shopping in Kampala. But whenever I go abroad I make sure I come back with a blouse or pair of trousers. What do you consider when shopping clothes? The first thing I consider when shopping is colour because it has to flatter my skin complexion. Comfort is second on the list. What is your favourite fashion accessory? Depending on the weather, a big bag, shawl and boots are some of my favourite fashion accessories. What is your favourite clothing item on a guy? I love a pair of jeans over a tight fitting round neck t-shirt on guys. What’s your favourite scent? Chastity is my favourite. I began wearing it after high school when I could afford it. What is the most expensive fashion accessory that you own in your wardrobe and what made you buy it? The most expensive item I have is a Swiss watch that was given to me by a friend. It costs around $ 250. Any fashion advice?My advice to young women is to avoid the combination of long earrings and a necklace. Long earrings are not supposed to be worn with a necklace!
