RDB IT Deputy CEO, Patrick Nyirishema, last week, said that the government will do all it can to improve the ICT Private sector in the country in order to meet the 2020 vision.
This was revealed in the meeting between RDB and the Rwanda Information and Communication Technology Association (RICTA), at Telecom house in kacyiru.
The discussion centered around creating an enabling business environment which can develop the exporting of ICT services.
Nyirishema advised RICTA to become a stronger advocacy platform for the sector, in addition to creating ICT chamber at the Private Sector Federation.
“We would like to see a stronger and a better RICTA and if there is anything that we can do to push it, we shall do,” Nyirishema said.
RICTA chairman, Patrick Kabagema, said that they were developing a strategic plan on how to improve the local ICT sector, however, they were facing problems with capacity building, marketing and finance.
Members of RICTA also said that the market is normally taken up by the international companies which pose a challenge to the local companies.
