As part of the concerted efforts to step up customer care in the country, Rwanda Development Board (RDB) in partnership with stakeholders, trained over 3,000 people in customer care skills in 2009, according to the National Customer Care Report.
The trainings which involved people from various sectors, especially service -oriented industries both in the private and public sectors, are expected to significantly improve customer care in the country.
“The trainings were done in cross cutting sectors; this distribution of skills will take the customer care promotion to another level,” said Deogratias Harorimana, RDB Deputy CEO in Charge of Human Capital and Institutional Development.
This initiative was part of the Kivu Mandate which called for the training of 4,000 people within a period of two years, and establishing a National Public Campaign to promote customer care.
Among those who have undergone training include the National Police, Social Security Fund of Rwanda, hotel and restaurant supervisors, KCC staff and local government officials.
