Two lecturers of the Higher Institute of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (ISAE), have been relieved of their duties after an investigation established that they awarded students grades they didn’t merit.
The investigation that was carried out by faculty members, found that some students had their grades raised yet they had performed poorly in the examinations.
Speaking to The New Times, ISAE Rector, Dr. Charles Karemangingo confirmed that Dr. Charles Ntahonshikira of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Deogratias Ndahayo of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Environmental Science were no longer part of his staff.
“The administration reached a consensus to sack them,” Karemangingo said. “What they did was intolerable and against what this institution stands for.”
Karemangingo added that the three students who were promoted by the two tutors have been demoted.
